Dharmshala : The Himachal Congress on Friday claimed that BJP president Amit Shah's "Pakistan celebration" remark exposed the BJP's attempts to whip up communal passions in Bihar in the ongoing Assembly elections.

Reacting sharply to Shah's Pakistan comment, State Spokesperson of Himachal Pardesh Congress Committee, Deepak Sharma told media persons at PWD Rest House Jawalamukhi that, Shah's remark was intended at salvaging NDA's position in the election and it also mirrored his party's desperation when the Grand Secular Alliance was going from strength to strength since the first phase.

Shah had stated yesterday that if the Grand Alliance came to power by default in Bihar once again, crackers in celebration would be burst in Pakistan.

Sharma said the first three phase of the Assembly election had clearly signalled that people of the state wanted to see Nitish Kumar as Chief Minister once again.

To a query on return of awards by litterateurs and scientists, he said that the Vajpayee government did not face such an embarrassment but it all started when Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister.

The Congress Spokesperson also asked the Prime Minister to break his silence on Chief Minister of Rajasthan Vasundhara Raje and her counterpart in Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan who are allegedly tainted in scams of distribution of mines blocks and Vyapam respectively.
