New Delhi : Minister for State for I&B Rajyavardhan Rathore said that, "It is important to ensure that every paise spent by the government is best utilised. So views and feedback regarding advertisements will be sought directly from the people."

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry is planning to put all its recent audio-visual spots and print advertisements in public domain and seek people's feedback on their effectiveness.

Sources said that the ministry, under whose mandate it is to publicise government programmes and initiatives, is also planning to seek advice from top names in the advertising sector regarding the advertisements issued by it.

Sources said the ministry is also planning to seek advice from top names in the advertising sector regarding the advertisements issued by it.

It falls under the mandate of the I&B ministry to publicise the initiatives and programmes of the government and it issues print and electronic advertisements on behalf of the government through Department of Audio Visual Publicity (DAVP).

Officials said the DAVP could soon be asked to devise a plan as to how it can seek feedback regarding the effectiveness of the ads from the public. They said that apart from print and electronic medium, the ministry is also planning to seek people's opinion regarding online advertisements issued by the government.

Ever since the NDA government has come to power, there has been a conscious attempt by the government to involve the people into the process of advertisements issued by it, officials said.

The I&B ministry has in recent times often "crowdsourced" designs for some of the advertisements it has issued on important days including those released on occasions like the Independence Day.
