Budget session : Govt determined to push through land bill

New Delhi : The second part of the ongoing Budget session of Parliament will begin on Monday with the reconvening of the Lok Sabha. The session may turn into a stormy affair as government is determined to push through the land acquisition bill while the opposition is making all efforts to stall it.

The focus will also be on other bills including Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Bill, the Goods and Services Tax Bill and the Undisclosed Foreign Income and Assets (Imposition of Tax) Bill, also known as anti-black money bill.

Discussions including 'grants' for Railways and some select ministries and general budget for 2015-16 will also be a part of the discussions. Speaking about the session, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, "Parliament  session begins today. I look forward to a productive session, filled with constructive debates on several issues."

iscuss the Demands for Grants of Railways, Ministries of Home, Health and Family Welfare, Environment and Forests & Climate Change, Chemicals and Fertilizers and Drinking Water & Sanitation. The Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development (Amendment) Bill, 2015 is also slated for the introduction.

During the first part, both the Houses were adjourned to enable department related standing committees to examine the demands for grants made by respective ministries.

The first part of the budget session started from February 20 and continued till March 20. Similarly, the 234th Session of Rajya Sabha was discontinued and was later summoned to be reconvened between April 23 and May 13.
